Bento is a Facebook ad format which features the catalogue of an advertiser in a dynamic grid. When I joined the team, the feature was limited to purely catalogue content, with no affordances for advertiser messaging or customizable branding. Joining the team, I was asked
How might we build a more engaging ad experience which provides the essential information to encourage a purchase?

Tempura is a rich interactive ad format. It brings delight to the typically disruptive ad experience by facilitating interactions that are advantageous to the end-user, like the ability to message the company with a question while shopping. It also affords advertisers greater flexibility to incorporate branding, promotional deals, and outreach channels than standard on Facebook at the time.
Design thinking + implementation for second generation of bento, aimed towards increased expressivity
Collaborated with XFN to built + release the feature
